Welcome to Merchant Risk
You’ll be part of Merchant Risk Continental Europe where you, together with your colleagues, have the responsibility of the risk management process. We’re responsible for the market price risk and production risk from our Continental European wind and solar assets, our power plants and gas sourcing contracts, and storages. We work with designing hedging mandates, risk models and measures (VaR/PL), regulatory compliance, reporting, accounting treatment and delivering the right analysis fast when the world change. As a team, we work in a style inspired by design thinking and agile concepts. We each have an area of primary responsibility, but we like to work together, share knowledge, and learn from each other. A lot is happening in energy markets currently, so we are searching for two new colleagues.
You’ll play an important role in:
- understanding the specific risks from our assets and contracts, while ensuring correct reporting and thorough mitigation on all their relevant risks
- back testing and stress testing hedging frameworks for specific assets and contracts
- engaging with portfolio managers and energy traders on risk topics
- ensuring that our risk models, e.g., value-at-risk, remain fit for purpose
- ensuring that we have the desired balance of the different risks we’re exposed to.
To succeed in the role, you:
- are analytically strong
- are used to work with and extract insights from large amounts of data
- are an experienced user of IT tools, like SQL, VBA, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Python.
