Ørsted is delighted to announce the appointment of Jun Kasamatsu as its new Country Manager for Japan, effective 24 August, taking on the role to oversee Ørsted’s growing business in Japan.
Jun is an experienced leader with over 20 years of extensive professional experience in renewable energy, structured finance, and investment banking. Jun has been an advocate for sustainable clean energy adoption and has contributed to the development of many solar projects in Japan.
Matthias Bausenwein, President of Ørsted Asia-Pacific, says: “As Country Manager for Japan, Jun will develop our growing team in Japan. Furthermore, he will expand our presence and visibility in Japan, mature and grow our business and collaborate with key partners and stakeholders in Japan.”

Ørsted announced its landmark entry into Japan in March, taking yet another significant stride in pioneering the offshore wind development in Asia Pacific through partnering with Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO), the largest power company in Japan. The two companies are working jointly on successful development of the Choshi 1 Offshore Wind Project in Chiba Prefecture.
